postheadericon Story Hour at the Highland Library

Every Tuesday morning you will find us at the Highland library for story time.  The children's librarian, Alexandra is so wonderful and patient.  She reads stories to us, sings songs, has movement activities planned..its something the kids look forward to every week.  After story hour yesterday, our friend Louie came and played the guitar for the kids and sang songs, a perfect day :)

Loved to watch baby Brynn sway to the music.. so cute :)

postheadericon Just another chilly drizzly Rochester day...

...but we made it through! Kept the girls busy today by enjoying Jills House (we rarely stay home all day..we like to GO GO GO)  Luckily our friends Rosalind and Ari came to visit, we took a walk to the Linden Ave playground...ran around the playground, singing in the swings...love happy kids in swings, its precious.

It was cold so we went home to play;   kitchen set, cars..music, jungle gym, balls...climbing through the tunnels....Ari loved the little skateboard guy.. Had lunch, kids must have enjoyed lunch because they were so quiet!  haha!

Eileen came and picked up Hoss, Im so grateful to Eileen, Liam and Charlotte, they take Hoss off our hands for a bit each day, and it is such a blessing.

Henry came home early today and we watched Open Season and ate popcorn while the little ones slept.

The day was over before we knew it, we made it rhough another drizzly, cold Rochester day...

and yup! this is my living room!

postheadericon Seneca Park Zoo Visit

The sun was shining, so we decided to take advantage of our zoo membership and go visit the zoo :)

On wednesdays (until April 14th) you will find a story and an animal to get up close and personal.  Today we heard the story: "Who Hoots" by Katie Davis and got to meet an owl!

The kids enjoyed seeing the Rhino's up close...

My little guys favorite place to hang out after we have lunch together in the pavilion is the Otter House; they are so funny, they take their shoes and coats off and hang with the Otters, snakes, frogs, and make themselves at home, i'll have to get a picture of that!

Otters were very entertaining today!

This guy had a lot to say...

Here are photos from past zoo visits:

postheadericon Rochester Toy Library

Today, we are going to take a venture and check out the Rochester Toy Library.  We have used this service many years ago in the past but it was its own entity, now we have learned it is part of the Monroe County Library System. So excited to check it out!

Toy Libray  <~~~~click here to check out the website

If you are too busy to check out the website, here is what it says:

The Toy Resource Center at the Lincoln Branch Library (TRC) offers a wide variety of toys and equipment to enrich play experiences between children and their caregivers. The 4000 toy collection and large playroom is primarily aimed at children ages newborn to 8 years old. Being part of the Rochester Library, and part of the Monroe County Library System, anyone with a library card in the metro-Rochester area can borrow toys. Or you can just visit and play in the playroom. The toys are divided up into various sections, and the collection includes riding toys, puzzles, games, musical instruments, puppets, trains, blocks, building sets, play kitchens, doll houses, dress up clothes, science sets, and many, many more. There's even a section devoted to special needs toys and learning aids. The TRC is always staffed by a professional toy library employee and a number of dedicated volunteers, the Toy Resource Center is open for you and your children!!

postheadericon Jill's House

Jill's House is a drop-in/hourly child care service.

I am are so excited to be providing this much needed and requested service to my neighbors in the Highland Park Neighborhood as well as the greater Rochester area.

Jill's House is an in-home  child care service.  Jill has turned her home into a children's play place with lots of activity choices. Children can choose from a variety of free-play activites: arts and crafts, indoor climbing gym, kitchen/housekeeping area/ dress up area, lots of cars and trains, barbies and babies walks to playground and feild trips.

Field Trips include: Story Hour at the Highland Library, occassional visits to the Strong Museum, Seneca Park Zoo, Springdale Farm and local parks and playgrounds. (Transportation and medical information need to be on file before a child can participate).

Jill's House is child-centered: Jill tunes in to what the children like to do and tries her best to have these activities available for them.
